i still think sasori was one of the best written characters in the entire naruto series. he hit home the whole “dont get kids involved with war” moral of naruto, whilst showing how said childhood trauma can affect you way into your mid-thirties. he was suicidal and struggled with the idea of morality. its implied he hated deidara’s art because he needed a constant in his life. its highly implied that all he ever wanted was to hug his parents again (see: he didnt dodge the puppet parents killing him when chiyo said he could’ve). even more so that he held his hands in the “puppet hug pose” when his soul departed. his confusion over eternalness/morality bound to his soul so much that when he knew he would leave a legacy, this impact on him was so profound that his soul was finally able to find peace.
